Sandra Marcinkowski (formerly Sandra Tyner), died at age 41 in March 20th. Sandra contracted RSV and was later admitted to the ER of Storment Hospital in Topeka where she was immediately intubated and placed on a ventilator. MRI revealed a blood clot on her brainstem which was sadly inoperable at the time of discovery. Sandra, who worked as a nurse for years, had a thorough medical advance directives. Sandra fought hard for her life for 10 days and when it was time to remove the ventilator, her family honored her last wishes. During her last 48 minutes, Sandra was surrounded by loved ones telling stories with bittersweet laughter. She died peacefully with a “say” on her end-of-life care.
The Zumbathon and silent auction fundraiser is scheduled on April 11th from 9:30-11:30am. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help her loved ones during this difficult time. https://www.gofundme.com/f/jump-dance-rise-for-sandra

Sandra graduated class president at Hollister high school and worked most of her adult life in Branson/Hollister area as a fitness instructor. She was loved by everyone who knew her and she empowered many, not only through coaching physical fitness but as well as boosting self-worth. She organized many community events including free fitness classes. One of her classes for the Branson Senior Center was featured on KOLR10 on April 26, 2018.
Sandra was extraordinarily caring and selfless. A single mother in her younger years and was working hard to make ends meet, managed to take care of three young children and raised funds to become their legal guardian to help keep them together.
She eventually put herself through nursing school and worked at the local Branson nursing home where she went above and beyond the call of duty. Sandra followed up on certain patients who were discharged to home alone and provided them with necessary assistance.
Despite her love of this area, she moved to Kansas to help her grandparents. She worked as a nurse but continued to work as a fitness instructor because she believed in the importance of it. Sandra lived an adventurous life that included scuba diving, sky diving, camping, and everything in between. She met the love of her life, Greg, and they got married in August 2022. Soon after, she gave birth to her third child.
Sandra was always teaching and always leading. Her last act on earth was showing the importance of having an advance directives.
